It is not news to anyone that the pandemic caused by the new corona-virus (Covid-19) has affected a large part of the job market, and especially hiring, thus generating more and more unemployment in the country.
And that ends up causing the unemployment numbers to grow more and more, reaching close to the level of unemployed people in the second world war. The numbers already reach 38% of the workforce on the planet, which is equivalent to approximately 1.25 billion people.
Most of the employees that make up that same number are workers in the tourism and hospitality, retail and industry sectors. Where, in Brazil, it has already been possible to observe the side effects to this large number of unemployed people.
If you are interested in getting to know this subject better and also have knowledge about these same sectors and also about the large number of unemployed people in the country, know that this is the most suitable article for you!
Which industries continue to hire?
Even with this pandemic, there are still those sectors that continue to hire new employees, and these same sectors are not just health.
With the large increase in cases, the pandemic has become more restrictive, thus causing more people to be isolated in their homes, with this in mind thousands of supermarkets have started to hire new employees. Where, a few days ago, the Carrefour supermarket chain announced the hiring of more than 5,000 employees.
The vacancies in question are being divided among the following positions: store operators, perishables assistants, prevention agents, cashiers, bakers, fishmongers, maintenance technicians, butchers, distribution center operators and appliance salespeople.
Most of the vacancies in question are being distributed in the following states: Manaus, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre and São Paulo.
It is worth noting that hiring is also being carried out in: pharmacies, truck drivers (and also in other areas that are directly linked to cargo handling and things like that) and also, accounting and financial sector companies, which can work with the companies in a context of recession.
However, even if with the completion of this same selection process, thousands of people will be able to secure their jobs, the vacancies that have been opened are still not enough to present a major change in the numbers of people who are unemployed in the country today.
Sectors that will not open vacancies
As for the sectors that will not be opening new vacancies for hiring new employees, the first one we have in mind is commerce.
This is due to the simple fact that, with the mandate of the President of the Republic (Jair Bolsonaro) and also the mandate of mayors of several cities, most of the country's businesses are closed and because they have to close the same, thousands of people who worked with the same, were also fired.
It is also worth remembering that those companies that work with food away from home (the famous fast food), in the same way as commerce, were one of the sectors that were most affected by the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In relation to tourism, because several cities and borders are closed due to the new virus, no one can leave home to travel, be it from one city to another, from one state to another and even from one country to another.
And finally, we must remember transport, which was also very affected, mainly the subway and bus lines, because several companies are not allowed to work, several workers, in addition to losing their jobs, are also unable to travel to your job.
